Evaluation Reflections Question 4

Our final question about the technolgy used over the course of the project was one of the ones that i flet we answered the best. I also think that it is between this and number 1 for my best performance and contribution as I made several key points and highlighted issues such as the use of HD.

Evaluation Reflections Question 3

We felt that this was the question that deserved the least amount of attention so naturally spent the least amount of time on. We all got into the discussion and were well into our conversation flow. We didn't really go into our target demographic into too much depth which is something I would focus on more if we did ti again.

Audience Profile:

Age : mid teens to young adult (20s). Gender : mixed bag, males for genre (fans of heavy music), girls for sex appeal (apparently hot band). Clothing style, similar to that of the band. Music taste (similar bands e.g. Funeral For a Friend, The Blackout) (generally wider music taste, Lostprophets a half way point between Rock bands and Heavier music. Means quite varied crowd).

Evaluation Reflections Question 2

Question 2 was nowhere near as long as Number 1. I continued with computer duty although the action had dried up due to the lack of clips needed for the answer. I think that we spent more time on the website and maybe not enough on deconstructing the digipak. I felt we answered it pretty well though, but feel that this was the question I said the least about.

Muse - 'Uprising' - Link with single cover

MySpace

A Day To Remember - Unconventional MySpace look, more unique and professional looking, common today as people move away from MySpace
Set Your Goals - Very promotional, album cover, merch and video are all on show and clear to the viewer

Architects - Introduces the band individually and follows institutional conventions, such as showing the record label, endorsements and bookings

The Saturdays - Has a more scopophilic feel, with more emphasis on a celebrity personality and look. Bio + Pictures

Alexisonfire - Has a competition on the page, a fine example of viral marketing

Album Cover

International Superheroes of Hardcore - Takin It Ova - Strong visual theme, taken from title

Oh Sleeper - When I Am God - Dark, moody colours

Muse - Uprising Single Cover - Has common themes with Video - Teddybears

Evaluation Reflection Question 1

During our evaluation I lead Question 1, which was about the codes and conventions of music video. I started off the conversations about both Goodwin's and Vernallis' theories and it seemed to go very well. I believe that we covered everything in our discussion that we wanted. I am pleased with my contribution as a felt I made points at frequent intervals. Here are some videos that we referenced in question 1:
